It was a real pleasure to create the opening animation for the Lipton commercial – Good shines in. Good shines out.A raindrop falling on a field of growing tea leaves emphasises Lipton's strong connection with nature.
The close and dynamic framing allows us to highlight the natural conditions in which the tea grows and brings an element of authenticity to the brand.
Process

We began by searching for inspiration & references – a falling droplet, rain clouds, and growing plants.
Next, we created a dynamic scene comprising animated clouds and falling raindrops. We utilized two options as the background – a video recording of a tea field and a 3D shrubs. Ultimately, we decided on the version with video recording, which added a unique character to the scene. An additional strengthening element was the lights, replicating lightning effects. We animated the main droplet to appear intriguing yet maintain realism.
In the following scene, we used Houdini to simulate the droplet's shattering upon impact with the ground.
As for the scene featuring the growing plants, we accelerated their growth to achieve the desired time-lapse effect.

Working on this project necessitated great attention to detail, as the shots were in extreme close-up. Ultimately, we obtained three diverse scenes that could be utilized in the commercial.
